but COMPLETELY WRONG !!!

sorry mister magic, but professional wise, you HAVE TO USE A 64 bits system :
- [premiere] go on the net and check forums about premiere stability. you will discover that everybody says that premiere is much more usable, stable and fast when using 64bits OS with lots of RAM, especially on big projects, in HD. Exactly what we need...

- [photoshop] the rule of thumb here is very easy : the more RAM you give to PS, the faster it will become. with xp32 and /3GB switch you will get about 2.2GB. with xp64, doing nothing, you will get about 3GB for PS, and all other RAM for you're system.
but that is "old" days, because since CS4, on you're PC, you'll get the 64bits version of PS... that at least you can use ALL YOU RAM. 8GB, 16GB and more !!! do i say you HAVE to use a 64bits OS ?

- [after effects] as adobe as taken the very nice idea of mutliprocessing form Gridon Nucleo plugin (at least they weak up a realize that people use worksations with plenty of unused cores for AE !), the rule is easy : you'll need 1 or 2GB of RAM per core to make a render.
so let's say you have a quad-core... you need 8GB RAM to make complex render in HD mode. Oh do you remember that xp32 can use a maximum of 3GB ???

about 64bits OS avaible now :
windows XP 64 professionnal -> VERY recommanded
all vista 64 bits editions -> it has the worst word from microsoft "vista" lol
windows 7 64 bits edition -> surrely the best, in one year ahead.
